Inspected Vehicle Auctions

How they work

If you’re new to buying cars at auction (or just want a refresher), then this guide will walk you through exactly how we host our auctions on mfldirect.

Auction timings

We run online auctions every weekday 09:30 - 16:00, but we make them available for preview the afternoon before, giving you time to look over all the Inspection Reports and Shortlist the cars that you want to bid on the next day.

By Shortlisting your favourites, you'll be able to log in and start bidding as soon as the auction is live.

Here's what to do when that happens:

Place your bid

To start bidding, click on the Place Bid button on the car of your choice. This will open your bidding controls, allowing you to place your opening bid or set your maximum bid.

From here we will automatically manage your bid in £50 increments until it hits your maximum bid.

If bidding reaches your maximum bid and you are outbid, you will be given the chance to raise your bid or stay outbid.

Manage your bids

After you place your first bid on a car, you'll be able to see it in your Shortlist and your My Bids area.

Use My Bids to manage all your live bids, as well as have a log of the cars you have won or lost.

Something to keep in mind when bidding is that credit used to bid on cars won’t come off your total credit until you check out and complete the purchase of a won auction vehicle.

You won the auction – now take action

Once you’ve won a car, you will need to go through the checkout process to secure it.

You can start this process from your My Bids area. You will also see won auction cars highlighted on your homepage.

Please note: If you haven’t checked out one of the cars you’ve won on auction after 24 hours, one of our sales team will be in touch to help.

You can also still choose between delivery and collection no matter how you buy your Inspected Vehicle.
