Sometimes we need to extend a lease on a Motability customer’s car, so find out what it means if you buy an Imminent.
Sometimes a Motability customer's new car has been delayed, so they need to keep the vehicle until the new one arrives. This means that we can’t always guarantee the handback date of our Preorder stock, but this doesn’t affect our Available stock.
If the Preorder vehicle you've bought is affected by a lease extension, we'll email you as soon as possible to give you time to decide if you'd like to proceed with the sale or find an alternative. You can cancel your purchase any time until the car has been returned. Once the car has been returned the sale will proceed as normal.
Usually the cars are only delayed by a few days, but on rare occasions it can take a bit longer. If the lease is extended beyond 30 days, you can request a price review, and:
- If the price has gone down, we will adjust the price to reflect this.
- If the price has gone up, we will honour the original price we agreed.
